We get it — in the age of social media, digital files feel like the norm. Especially in the wedding world, they’re generally expected. Couples want to share their big day right away, and portrait clients love the idea of having “all the photos.” But if we stop there, we’re not just shortchanging ourselves — we’re shortchanging them. Here’s why: Digital is fleeting. Print is forever. Digital images are shared for a moment and then forgotten, buried in a sea of phone photos and cloud storage. Prints become treasures. Albums become stories passed on. To View More >>

We believe that the best way to sell albums and other products is to create a tailored line that suits your market, personal imagery and brand. And we’ve realised that one little thing standing in the way is that you can’t customise our current cover material swatches to help you do that — select products, materials and colours, and then guide your clients to the right choice. So we've decided to relaunch our cover swatches to suit. We're now offering two different cover swatch tools, to choose your materials and to display them beautifully to clients.  The first is To View More >>

Whether you’re just getting started with Queensberry, or you've been with us a while and want to revamp your product offering, we know it can all seem a bit daunting.   Especially for newbies there's a lot to learn — new ordering systems, new terminology, different page types, optional extras etc. Don't worry, we're here to help, and it's not that hard really! One of the few good things to come out of 2020 is that we're now all used to Zoom calls, and you can now pre-book these with us at a time to suit you. A one-on-one "face-to-face" session is a great way to get you sorted. To View More >>

Updated 18 October 2020 "Happy Holidays!" – They'll be on us faster than we think, and your clients will definitely want their books, boxes, albums, frames, canvases and prints in good time. "Go to the front of the line!" — that's what we recommend every year. Our orders go up 3-400% before Christmas, and, since most of what we do is handmade to order, we publish these guidelines in the interests of a low-stress lead-up to the holidays. Don't worry though — these are guidelines, not deadlines. We  generally get orders out that we receive  way  To View More >>

“Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known.” – Oscar Wilde In this series we shine a light on artists expressing their individuality, documenting what they love, working hard on their craft, and sharing it with the world. We spoke to Joel McDowell, a Taupo based photographer who aims to evoke emotion in people through his work, and capture the hidden gems our beautiful country has to offer. How do you stay inspired?  That is a good question. Surrounding myself with other creatives, in all mediums and experience levels, is a good way to bounce To View More >>

“Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known.” – Oscar Wilde In this series we shine a light on artists expressing their individuality, documenting what they love, working hard on their craft, and sharing it with the world. We took a deep dive into Auckland-based landscape and automotive photographer, Josh Hilliam’s mind to discuss his process of chasing down the wild coastline. How did you get started in photography? For me, photography started with playing around with a GoPro and a building obsession for aesthetic looking photos. It became a To View More >>

What can we learn from A Day of Bliss? Gorgeous brides. Striking grooms. Exquisite venues. Enticing food. Charming families and friends. Alluring music, and dancing.  These phrases describe the events that Wolfgang Freithof and Chiaki Sato photograph. And imagine — A Day of Bliss Photography Studio shoots up to 70 such weddings each year. They certainly enjoy the high-level of success that most wedding photographers aspire to, so what can we learn from them? 1. Experience Matters As you might expect, you must first work hard to earn this kind of success. Combined, Wolfgang To View More >>

It’s hard to believe how time flies … Before you know it we’ll be gearing up for that crazy fun-filled time we call Christmas. A time for holidays … and family … and at Queensberry, for getting those precious photographs into albums for everyone to share over the holidays! It’s also time to think about getting your sample albums ready for the January shows. The sole purpose of our Favourites feature is to make your job as a photographer easier. Your clients select their favourite images by clicking the Workspace heart while hovering over an image. (On mobile you can reveal the Favourite button by tapping an image to view it full screen.)  Your clients can review their Favourites by clicking the Heart icon at the top right of the screen. You can view them too, in the backend of Workspace, and use them, for example, to order prints, or other products you offer, or to design an album. To View More >>

We came across Jacqui McSweeney's Instagram when she shared an image of a Queensberry album. We liked her feed so much we asked her to tell us more about herself… Why do I love photography? I love how organic it is in that I can have an idea for an image but from that idea to looking through the viewfinder to pressing the shutter everything can change. I love how excited it makes me, and how I can share that excitement with the people I am photographing, and the people viewing my images. I love thinking about the colours of an image or the beautiful tones of a black To View More >>
